The DART suburban rail service stops at Sandycove station, only 120 metres from Windsor Lodge.  It is a 20-25 minute journey from Dublin City to Sandycove by train.

The Aircoach bus service to/from Dublin Airport is only 200 meters away at St. Josephs Church in Glasthule.

Detailed directions from Exit 16 of the M50

  • Turn off the M50 at Exit 16 (the second last exit).
  • Go straight through first roundabout, following signs for Dun Laoghaire.
  • Take second exit off next (second) roundabout on to road no. R118.
  • At the next (third) roundabout take the third exit (not second which is signposted for Dun Laoghaire).
  • Proceed straight through the small roundabout half way down the hill.
  • Drive straight down the hill through 3 sets of traffic lights to sea-front.
  • Once at the seafront junction turn right.
  • Take the next right after 100 metres on to Islington Avenue, at Martello Restaurant.
